Not really: Suno makes songs, not 1–3 second one-shots like a jump or a coin. For game sound effects use a model built for them, like ElevenLabs SFX (0.5–10 s per effect).
01The short answer
Suno generates songs. Ask it for "a coin pickup sound" and you get a short piece of music, not a clean one-shot you can drop into Godot or Unity.
Sound-effect models work differently: you describe the sound and the length, and you get exactly that. In SunoBoard the default is ElevenLabs SFX (0.5 to 10 seconds per effect), with TangoFlux as a cheaper option and Stable Audio for ambiences and loops up to 60 seconds.
02Where Suno does help with game audio
Use Suno for the parts that are music, and an SFX model for everything else:
- Suno
title themes, level music, boss fights, menu loops, jingles and short stingers. - SFX model
footsteps, jumps, hits, coins, UI clicks, doors, explosions, monster roars. - Stable Audio ambience
rain, wind, room tone and seamless background loops up to 60 seconds.
03Make game SFX from a prompt
Open Sound FX, describe the sound in one line and pick a length. Short and physical works best: say what the object is made of and how it moves. The free plan includes 30 sound effects a month; Basic has 80 and Pro 200.
retro coin pickup, bright 8-bit chime, 0.5 seconds
heavy wooden door creaking open slowly, old castle
sword clash, metal on metal, short ring out
small slime jump, wet squishy bounce, cartoon
04Or from Claude, Cursor and Codex
The SunoBoard MCP connector has a generate_sfx tool next to generate_music, so you can ask your assistant for a batch of effects while it writes the game code. Setup is in Does Suno have an MCP server?, and engine tips are in SFX for Godot and Unity.

FAQ
Can Suno generate sound effects?
Suno is designed for songs and instrumentals. It can produce short musical stingers, but not clean 1–3 second one-shot effects like footsteps or UI clicks. Use a sound-effect model such as ElevenLabs SFX for those.
How long can an AI sound effect be?
ElevenLabs SFX in SunoBoard makes effects from 0.5 to 10 seconds. For longer ambiences and loops, Stable Audio goes up to 60 seconds.
Can I use the sound effects in a commercial game?
SunoBoard does not claim rights over what you generate. The audio comes from third-party models, so their terms also apply; check them before a large commercial release.
Is it free?
The free plan includes 30 sound effects a month. Paid plans start at US$ 3.97 a month with 80 sound effects.
