Suno has no official MCP server or public API (checked November 2026). You can still make Suno songs from Claude, Cursor, VS Code or Codex with a third-party MCP server like SunoBoard.
01The short answer
No official one. Suno has not released an MCP server or a public API for developers, so every "Suno MCP" you find is built by a third party on top of a Suno API provider.
SunoBoard is one of them: a hosted MCP connector at https://mcp.sunoboard.com/mcp plus an open-source npm package, @yellowkode/suno-mcp. Both generate songs with the Suno models (V6 by default) and return a playable link in the chat. SunoBoard is not affiliated with Suno.
02Your three options, side by side
Pick by where you work and whether you already pay for a Suno API key:
- Hosted connector (no install)
add https://mcp.sunoboard.com/mcp as a custom connector in Claude.ai and sign in with Google. The free plan works: 5 credits a month, and 1 credit = 1 Suno request = 2 songs. - API key over HTTP (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor)
the same URL with a SunoBoard key (sb_…) as a bearer token. Keys come with the Pro plan (US$ 9.97/month, 75 credits) and Studio. - Local npm package (stdio)
npx @yellowkode/suno-mcp with SUNO_API_KEY set to an sb_ key or to your own sunoapi.org key. Use this if you already pay sunoapi.org directly.
03Set it up in Claude.ai (2 minutes)
Open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, paste the URL below, then click Connect and authorize with your SunoBoard account. Start a new chat and ask for a song; Claude calls generate_music and wait_for_music and answers with the audio link.
Make a 2-minute upbeat chiptune track for the title screen of my platformer, instrumental, loop-friendly ending.

04Set it up in Claude Code, Cursor or VS Code
Create a key in Settings → SunoBoard API Key, then add the server. In Cursor or VS Code, put the npm package in .cursor/mcp.json or .vscode/mcp.json with SUNO_API_KEY in "env". The full walkthrough with screenshots is in how to connect Suno to Claude.
claude mcp add --transport http sunoboard https://mcp.sunoboard.com/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer sb_YOUR_KEY"
05What the tools can do
The connector exposes generate_music, wait_for_music, get_music_status, list_recent_music and get_credits, plus generate_sfx for sound effects and search_library for ready-made tracks. Besides Suno you can pick Google Lyria, MiniMax, Stable Audio or ElevenLabs Music per request. The list of tools is on the Suno MCP page.
FAQ
Is there an official Suno MCP server?
No. As of November 2026 Suno has not published an MCP server or a public developer API. MCP servers for Suno, including SunoBoard, are third-party and use a Suno API provider such as sunoapi.org.
Is the SunoBoard MCP connector free?
Yes, the free plan works with the hosted connector: 5 credits a month (up to 10 Suno songs, 2 per day) and 30 sound effects. Paid plans start at US$ 3.97 a month.
Which MCP clients work?
Claude.ai and Claude Desktop (custom connector), Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf and OpenAI Codex. Any client that supports remote HTTP MCP servers or stdio servers can use it.
Do I need my own Suno or sunoapi.org key?
No. The hosted connector uses your SunoBoard credits. A sunoapi.org key is only needed if you prefer to run the npm package against your own sunoapi.org account.
